Changelog

What's changed recently. Curated — not every commit shows up here, only the things you'd notice.

  1. Kairos Pro + 7-day free trial

    general

Kairos is now a paid app at $1.99/month or $19.99/year, with a 7-day free trial for every signup. Existing users get a fresh 7-day trial on first open. Manage from Settings → Subscription or your Apple ID subscriptions.

  2. Email ingest retired

    privacy

The Gmail integration and the Email tile are gone. The Google Calendar connect flow no longer triggers the "unverified Google app" warning — Gmail scope is no longer requested.

  3. Schedule replaces Calendar + Social

    general

The Calendar page is now Schedule and covers calendar + close friends in one view. Social is retired as a top-level category. Family + partner tiles were removed; Kairos focuses on close friends as the single relationship cohort.

  4. Listening is a top-level page

    general

Spotify, Apple Music, and Last.fm now have their own Listening category page with your own plays, friend activity, and musical kinship tiles.

  5. Prose: morning Recap, Excerpt, Discover

    privacy

Home page now has a Model | Prose tab pair. Model is the statistical view; Prose describes your patterns in plain language. Opt-in only — nothing goes to an LLM unless you turn it on in Settings → Preferences → Prose.

  6. Strava via Apple Health

    general

Kairos exited the Strava Developer Program after the 2026 API Policy changes. Strava workouts still flow into Kairos — enable Strava → Apple Health in the Strava iOS app and we read from there.

  7. Spotify: bring your own developer app

    general

Spotify now uses a bring-your-own developer-app model (their quota tier changed). The Settings wizard walks you through creating your own Spotify app and pasting its client ID + secret, which Kairos stores encrypted alongside your OAuth tokens.

  8. New-device sign-in alerts

    security

You now get an email whenever an unrecognised device signs in to your Kairos account — actionable takeover-detection signal without you having to check anything. First-ever sign-ins are suppressed (that would just fire on every signup).

  9. Full data export

    privacy

Settings → Account → Export my data returns a JSON dump of every row we hold for you across every category. Auth-adjacent state (session tokens, encrypted OAuth blobs) is excluded.

  10. Signup abuse protection

    security

Disposable-email domains (mailinator, guerrillamail, yopmail families, etc.) are now blocked at signup. Same email can't be retried more than 5 times per hour across rotating IPs — kills a grief-signup vector against a target inbox.
